They are the most popular choice among cat lovers and are best known for their silvery grey colour with bright blue eyes. You can easily recognize these cats by their elegant bodies, triangular head and their small almond eyes. These beautiful Siamese cats are also very popular for their unique color points that contrast with their white bodies or cream. These Siamese cats are not just beautiful, but they are very smart too. You can find them in brown, orange, cream, and even a blue coat. The original color of Siamese was seal point but now also exist in blue, lilac and chocolate tones. Now you may also see Siamese cats with red dots, dark brown dots and other variants as well. The only thing that is more common among all Siamese cats is that they all have darker points in the tail, face and legs, with a light body. But the question is, have you ever thought of a Siamese cat in a black coat? Yeah, while they exist in black, but they're very close to finding. The colouring and the points of the Himalayan GeneSiamese cat originate from a certain color gene and that gene is known as an Himalaya gene. The Himalaya gene causes partial albinism and is sensitive to heat. The meaning of heat sensitivity is that the darkest cooler will be the color. Now, this is why all Siamese cats are born white and then develop dark spots around the face, tail and legs. Because of this Himalaya gene, these cats have blue eyes. As mentioned above, the Himalaya gene is the reason why Siamese cats have different color points. In the uterus where the temperature is warm, the Kittens color always remains white but when they are born they are exposed to a certain temperature and then develop the darker colors. In fact, all Siamese cats are born white and the color becomes darker when they age. Now because of this Himalaya gene, these Siamese cats develop a darker color in the coldest region of your body and the same gene allows warm areas to remain a clearer color. Of this, one thing is clear that all Siamese cats are born white and there can be no Siamesa cat all black. Its color can get darker in cooler months of the year, but they will never become a whole color. How to inherit Himalayan Gene? Due to the Himalaya gene, these Siamese cats have the signature color points. Also to get the pure race of Siamese both the mother and the father must carry the Himalaya gene in them. In case someone from the mother or father does not carry the Himalaya gene, the eye color of the kitten and if the cat has color points can be variable. The possibility of kitten having the color points of the body will depend on the following information. So, is there anything like a black cat Siamese? Genetically, one is a black cat, but the Himalaya gene in them prevents Siamese's skin from being all black. So if you want a black cat Siamese then you should buy an oriental cat. Oriental cats and Siamese are essentially the same cats but the difference is that oriental cats do not have that Himalaya gene in them. Because oriental cats don't have the Himalaya gene in them, so you won't get them in blue eyes. As the eye shape of the Eastern and Siamese cats is the same but instead of the blue eyes, the oriental cats have a green tone. So if you see a black cat then you're probably looking at an oriental cat. The body characteristics of an oriental cat are the same as those of Siamesa, but they do not carry that Himalaya gene in them. So the point is that a cat with pure black skin cannot be a Siamese pedigree-but all the different oriental races. As these cats share some common ancestry they look quite the same in size, shape and body characteristics. In order to get a Siamese cat crossed, you can pair a black oriental cat with a Siamese cat and end up with black Siamese kittens. Free E-bookI respect your privacy. Subscribe at any time. oFascinating Data About Siamese Kitten Color One of the most about Siamese kittens is its color only developed after they are born. This is due to a fascinating mixture of genetic heritage and heat-sensitive enzyme action taking place during the development of each kitten in the uterus. White New Birth Siamese Kittens The Siamese kitten color you see when you come to choose or is a distant cry of the way this race begins life. In fact, according to him, all Siamese kittens are born white. Genetics Behind Siamese Cat Color Development All Siamese is born with a gene that produces partial albinism. However, a genetic mutation of this gene restricts coloration to the extremities of cats, including the facial mask, legs and tail. This mutation affects the enzymes that produce pigment in the skin, but the amount of pigment that these enzymes produce is affected by temperature. How Temperature Affects Color Points The temperatures of 98 degrees Fahrenheit or greater cause the enzymes to produce almost no discernible coloring on the axes of the hair in the main body of the cat. However, the extremities of the cat are usually cooler than the body, so the enzymes produce coloration in these areas. Combine this enzymatic action sensitive to heat with other genes that modify, and the results are the various color point patterns seen in Siamese cats. So why are Siamese white kittens? The temperature inside the uterus exceeds 98 degrees Fahrenheit, so the color production is inhibited. Enzymes don't become fully operational until kittens are a little older. This means that while experienced breeders can make an educated guess in the color result of a breeding, they will not be able to safely say what color a kitten will be up to about a week after birth. Standard Siamese Kitten Colors come in four standard colors according to the Association of Fanciers Cat (CFA). Sealing point Siamese sealing point is the original type of color first exported from Siam. Color points are a rich dark brown that looks almost black. Brown fades in the cream in the rest of the body. Seal Points tend to darken with age. Chocolate Point Chocolate points take their name from chocolate milk coloring found on legs, tail, face and ears. This coloration tends to develop more slowly than others. Blue Point Siamese Blue Point carries blue slate points on a light blue body. This gives them a silvery look. Nose pads and legs are also blue-gray. Lilac Point The Lilac Siamese point is a very delicate but interesting color combination. The dots are grey pink, placed against a white body color. Nose pads and legs are also lavender rose. The lilacs tend to stay light, even when they grow old. Determination of color points in young kittens According to the , it may take as long as a year when color points develop into a targeted color race. Fortunately, the pigment on the nose and the pads of the animal can help you determine what color your points will be during the first weeks of life. The pigment usually begins to develop at sealing point and blue-point kittens around ten days of age, while it can take up to 12 days for the pigment to develop at the point of chocolate and lilac point kittens. The CFA breed standard indicates the type of pigment associated with each color point. Point colors according to the pigment point of the skin of the nose and the closing point of the blade Brown hair nose and pads Chocolate Point Cinnamon pink nose and pads Blue Point Slate grey nose and pads Lilac Point Lavender pink nose and pads Blue Eyes Blue eyes are also the norm for Siamese kittens. While many races are initially born with ignition, the partial albinism gene found in the Siamese makes the eyes remain blue. The color you see is actually the result of the light that is reflected from the retina. Kitten Fully Grown Siamese The Siamese cat's journey from the embryo is all more amazing when you consider the elements that enter the development of color points. Please note that the next time you find one of these elegant and beautiful felines.
